Intuition

“Follow your intuition”.

Another redundant phrase… for a reason.

It’s truly our superpower, our magic.

We have this higher intelligence that we can tap into and listen to. We don’t have to book appointments to listen to this, or find the right guru. It’s here, available to us at all times.

And truly, it always has our best interest. It always leads us right where we are supposed to be. It’s a relationship though; us and our intuition. The more you listen to it and follow it, the stronger it feels and the more you can trust it.

I remember back in 2018 when I first had my ~spiritual awakening~ (I don’t like using that phrase for how overused, and out of context it can be. But I mean really, before this time I feel like I was asleep to what is truly reality and what I’m capable of in this life) that’s when I first started really feeling and hearing my intuition speak.

I remember writing in my journal, on my bedroom floor, “I will travel the world, solo. I will become a yoga teacher. I’ll do it by this summer." I didn’t have direction, or plans. I just knew in my soul that’s what I was supposed to do. My intuition told me. When I surrendered, trusted, and listened to this innate knowing, the rest fell into place.

By that summer (about 6 months later after writing this in my journal), I set off on my solo trip, traveling the world. I became a yoga teacher. I lived the life I dreamed of. All because I didn’t listen to anyone else (aka important people in my family saying that I was making a bad decision graduating college and leaving with no plan) and only my intuition.

During my travels, I never had an itinerary, or anything planned. Just a one way trip to Europe. All I needed was my intuition. It led to the most beautiful places, building the most beautiful, lifelong friendships all the way from Europe, to Africa, to Asia. I trusted, I surrendered, and I listened to this higher intelligence streaming through me. I actually remember being in Portugal and waking up with this intense feeling in my gut that I needed to get on a bus and head to a new town. I had just arrived in the town I was in, and planned to stay there a few more weeks. But this feeling was so strong. I opened up my phone, chose a town 5 hours away that spoke to me, packed my bags, and headed there that day. That led me to three of the most treasured friendships I have today. The most magical memories in that town. I even left Portugal with my friend I made and hopped on a plane to Morocco.

I lived in Morocco for 5 months after that, and just like clockwork, my intuition spoke. I was on the rooftop looking out at the stars (not for dramatic effect, I really was lol) and I knew it was time for my next journey. I remember hearing a bunch of travelers saying that they loved Sri Lanka. So, that night my intuition booked a way one to Sri Lanka and I left a few weeks later. I found a yoga teaching job easily and it all aligned. I could go on with examples, but this speak volumes.

Fast forward to a year later, after moving home due to COVID, my intuition came in again, and said it’s time to move to California. I had no plan, I just knew. I wrote down in my notebook again, “I’ll move to California by February”. Fast forward 1.5 months, my car is packed and I’m headed to California. Sounds like magic right?

I continue to live the life I dream up, all thanks to my relationship with my intuition.

I hope this little story resonates with you, and inspires you to build your relationship with yours. To open your heart and soul to your intuition. To not question it. To just surrender, trust, and know it has your best interest in mind. It’s the best relationship you can ever cultivate.
